Deeply Formed Life: Theology of the Body
Be changed. Be formed. Go deep.
What is deeply formed life?
We want to be a community that creates space for any topics or questions of life. This is a way to gather people with different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures who all have the shared desire to go deep. We will join together bi-weekly for a lecture and discussion about our bodies and what scripture teaches us about our bodies.
What will we be reading?
We will read Wonderfully Made: A Protestant Theology of the Body by John W. Kleinig:
Sept. 23 | Chapter 1 “Body Matters” and Chapter 2 “The Created Body”
Oct. 7 | Chapter 3 “The Redeemed Body”
Oct. 21 | Chapter 4 “The Spiritual Body”
Nov. 4 | Chapter 5 “The Sexual Body”
Nov. 18 | Chapter 6 “The Spousal Body”
Dec. 2 | Chapter 7 “ The Living Body”
You can find additional resources HERE.
What will we do at deeply formed life?
We will come together from 7-9pm, having read that weeks materials, to share a meal, hear a lecture from Rev. Dr. Christopher Myers and others based on the reading, and then enjoy discussion at our tables.
