Pastoral Residency Program

What Is a pastoral residency?

St. Bartholomew’s, in partnership with Made to Flourish, is seeking our first pastoral resident.

The pastoral residency affords the resident the opportunity to serve in a full-time capacity while also learning the ins and outs of pastoral ministry while “on the job.” In this way the pastoral residency intentionally seeks to mimic the model of the medical residency, where the church serves as a teaching hospital for the resident. While serving on staff, the resident will have the opportunity to grow in particular core competencies necessary for a lifetime of healthy and fruitful ministry.

The program is designed for recent seminary graduates who are interested in ministering in the Anglican tradition. The pastoral resident will serve as a member of our staff, working alongside the Rector, the residency coordinator, and the rest of our team to provide pastoral leadership to our church.

As a part of the Anglican Mission in America, our desire is to train leaders in the three-streams expression of Anglicanism who will go on to lead healthy and vibrant churches. (To learn more about the Anglican Mission in America, and more about three-streams Anglicanism, click HERE.)

If you would like more information or would like to apply for our residency, please email Rev. Dr. Christopher Myers, who serves as our residency coordinator, using the form below. Applications for this round will remain open until the end of May 2025. The target start date for the resident is Fall 2025.
