Our Father ...

Collect for Rogation Monday
Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth: We humbly pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are constantly receiving good things from your hand, may always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Rogation Days are special days of prayer for God’s provision. Our Anglican forebears have participated in these days of prayer since 747 that traditionally fall on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday preceding Ascension Day (Thursday, May 30 this year).

As we approach the end of our fiscal year and recognize our need for God’s provision, I solemnly invite to prayer and fasting these three days.

Each morning you’ll receive an email like this one with scripture lessons and prayers. Read the scriptures, listening for the Spirit of God to speak to you through his Word. Pray the Lord’s Prayer and the collect for the day. And then take a moment to intercede for St. Bart’s, her mission and ministries, and for God’s provision for his Church. Do this at a fixed time in the morning and the evening.

To gather up our corporate yet individual prayers, we will meet for a special Rogation Day Service, Wednesday, May 29, at 8:15 am.
