First Sunday of Advent - 12/01/24

The new church begins this Sunday with the season of Advent, a time of preparation for celebrating Christ’s birth and longing for his return. We light the first Advent candle, and Pastor Dave preaches on the apocalyptic language of the prophet Zechariah and Jesus’ prophetic words from Luke 21.

As we behold the face of God in the face of Christ, we are transformed into his image. This is what it means to be fully human—to become like Jesus, the truly human one, and to grow more and more in the freedom of the children of God.
